Our
erotic response is directly connected to the darkly delicious fertile
soil of our unconscious. In my work with erotic genres such as BDSM, my
aim is to uncover, welcome and integrate as much of the forgotten self
into your conscious energetic being as possible. Every time this
happens, something in our existing ego structures shatter - and we wake
up more to the truth of who we really are, as embodied souls.BDSM
as a field of erotic exploration lends itself to profound
transformation - if it is approached consciously, and with totality.
Totality in this context means not holding back at all in exploring the
depth of feelings that is held in the erotic. Such feelings are most
often mixed, particularly when there is a desire for domination or
submission: the erotic response increases significantly with the
presence of seemingly opposite states of feeling present, such as shame,
guilt, repulsion and pain. I will explore in this workshop the workings
of these parallel, paradoxical states, and why it is important to feel
it all.
Totality with BDSM requires a fine scalpel -
keen perception from both the sub and the dom in identifying exactly
what the desire-fear complex is, and how it is linked to the
unconscious. This is not a theoretical exercise. It is felt in the body.
So for instance, it is essential to be able to distinguish between
eroticism to physical pain, power, mind-emotional complexes (such as
guilt or disgust combined with arousal) or surrender. Without
identifying the exact focus of the erotic charge, the work simply cannot
be total, and cannot go all the way through. And identification means
going all the way through - into the depths of the experience.
Finally,
this talk will address ways of working with the nervous system
responses that occur in the presence of intense sensation. I will
address ways of using forms of domination to touch and unwind deep
contractions in the nervous system. By creating space for the full
experience of the nervous system to be there, we free up the capacity to
feel more, and start to experience life with exquisitely fine presence,
awe and love.

What is Totality Therapy?
Totality
Therapy is a contemporary, streamlined interpretation of the ancient
wisdom of Tantra. It was developed and is taught by Dr Shakti Mari
Malan. Totality Therapy uses the method of total immersion in experience
while evoking a strong witness presence within. Through experiencing
primary polarities such as fear and desire, good and bad, masculine and
feminine with intentional depth and thoroughness, we get to break
through the polarized gridlocks of our existing ego structure.
Sexual Somatics Presencing
Sexual
somatic presencing is the process of becoming deeply present in our
bodies through the release and opening of what is held in our sexual
energy. Our sexual energy is directly connected to our unconscious - to
experiences in our collective or individual histories that are
unresolved or suppressed. Sexual Somatics Presencing Training catalyses
awareness of what is held in the sexual unconscious, and also provides
skills and opportunities for the integration of unconscious materials.
This work has a strong focus on nervous system repatterning. The
weekend also provides training in developing deep presence in our
embodied sexuality, at all times.
This weekend is an introduction
to Sexual Somatic work, and will be followed by a Sexual Somatics
Facilitators Training in California in May/June 2013.
Who is the course for?
Totality
Therapy is for people who are serious about waking up - this lifetime.
Awakening happens when we live in the full, embodied realization that
there is no separate self and that we are essentially one with all of
existence. Some traditions would call this the realization of our
essential divinity. In Advaita, the awakened state is seen as that which
exists beyond perceptions of duality. This course is suitable for any
seeker/student, but is especially designed for practitioners/healers
who would like to incorporate this method into their professional
practice.
